Residential Plumbing
Repairs, repiping, fixtures, drains and water heaters for North Shore homes, done by the same licensed crew that looks after the heating, so nothing gets passed off.
The same licensed crew that looks after the heat
Plenty of North Shore homeowners end up with one company for the boiler and another for the plumbing, and discover the gap between them the first time something goes wrong near the hot water tank. We do both, so nothing gets handed off.
Day to day that means leaks, low pressure, failing fixtures, blocked drains and water heaters. Bigger picture it means repipes, a lot of houses here still have poly-B, and insurers have grown much less willing to write policies on them.
On a repipe, most of the skill is route planning: finding paths through closets, soffits and existing chases so the amount of drywall opened is as small as it can be. That is usually where the real difference between two quotes hides.
What you get from doing it once, properly
-
One crew, no finger-pointing
When the heating and the plumbing are the same licensed team, a problem near the tank or the manifold is simply dealt with, not diagnosed as the other trade's responsibility.
-
Repipes planned around your drywall
We walk the route before quoting and tell you room by room what has to open. Getting that right saves more than the difference between most quotes.
-
Pressure sorted at the source
High incoming pressure quietly destroys pipe, fittings and appliances. Where it is above the safe range we fit a pressure-reducing valve rather than treating the symptom again next year.
-
Straight answers on timing
Not everything needs doing today. If you can monitor it and budget for next year, we would rather tell you that and keep the relationship.
From the first call to a tidy site
- 01
Describe it on the phone
For a lot of faults we can narrow the cause before we arrive, which means the right parts on the van and one visit instead of two.
- 02
Diagnose and price
We find the actual cause rather than the nearest symptom, then give you the price before any work starts. On repipes we walk the route with you first.
- 03
Do the work
Floors protected, water off for the shortest window we can manage, and on multi-day jobs a daily update on what moved and what is next.
- 04
Test and clean up
Everything pressure-tested and checked for leaks, the site left clean, and anything we noticed but did not touch written down for you.
Is this your house?
Homeowners dealing with a leak, low pressure, failing galvanised or poly-B pipe, or a renovation that needs the plumbing moved and re-done properly.

“Full repipe of a house that still had poly-B. They planned the route to avoid opening the finished basement ceiling, which saved us a drywall bill nobody else had even mentioned. Clear daily updates, and the water pressure afterwards is a completely different house.”

“Hot tub hookup on a deck that was not easy to get to. Two other companies looked at it and never sent a quote. North Wave sent one in two days, did the gas and water run cleanly, and left the site tidier than they found it. Straightforward people to deal with.”

What people ask about plumbing work
How do I tell if I have poly-B pipe?
Look at the pipe entering your hot water tank. Poly-B is usually grey, slightly chalky and flexible, and is often stamped PB2110 along its length. Copper is obvious; PEX is glossier and usually white, red or blue. Note that many houses were only partly repiped, copper at the tank does not guarantee copper in the walls.
Do I have to repipe immediately if I have poly-B?
Not necessarily. If you have already had one failure, plan it, first failures are rarely last ones. If walls are open for a renovation, do it then. Otherwise the deciding factor is often your insurer, since several in BC now decline or exclude poly-B homes. Ask your broker before you decide.
How long does a whole-home repipe take?
Three to five days on a typical North Shore house. You can normally stay in the house throughout, with the water off for part of each day rather than all of it. We run the new lines alongside the old, then switch over.
Do you handle emergencies?
Yes. No heat, no hot water and active leaks are prioritised, including outside normal hours. If you are dealing with a live leak, shut the main off first and then call; we will talk you through it if you are not sure where the shutoff is.
Do you give quotes over the phone?
For well-defined jobs like a fixture swap or a tank replacement, yes, and we will stand behind it. For anything hidden, a leak in a wall, a drain issue, a repipe, we would rather look first than give you a number that changes later.
