Heat, hot water and plumbing, from one licensed crew

Most North Shore homes run their radiators, their hot water and often their pool or hot tub off the same heating plant. We look after all of it, so nobody gets told it is the other trade's problem.

The details that decide whether a system lasts fifteen years or five

  • Heat-loss calculation, not guesswork

We size the boiler to a real heat-loss calculation for your house. An oversized boiler short-cycles, wears out early and costs more to run, it is the single most common fault we find in replacements.

  • Licensed gas fitting and venting

Gas line sizing, combustion air and venting are done to BC code and permitted where a permit is required. Every appliance is combustion-tested and the readings are written on the commissioning sheet we leave with you.

  • Zoning and balancing

Separate zones for the areas that behave differently, the bedrooms, the addition, the in-floor bathroom, the pool loop. We balance them on commissioning so no room is left cold or roasting.

  • Annual service and rebate paperwork

Yearly maintenance keeps the warranty valid and catches small faults early. We also complete the FortisBC maintenance and equipment rebate paperwork with you so the credits actually get claimed.

Proof

Homeowners who had this work done.

  • “Our 1978 boiler finally gave up in the middle of a cold snap. North Wave came out the same afternoon, got us running on a temporary fix, then did the full replacement the following week. They actually measured the heat loss for the house instead of just matching the old unit, the new boiler is roughly half the size and the upstairs bedrooms are warm for the first time since we bought the place.”

  • “Converted us from an old tank to a tankless unit. What I appreciated was that they talked me out of the bigger model I thought I needed and explained exactly why, gas line capacity, not marketing. Quote was fixed, the price at the end was the price on the quote, and they handled the FortisBC rebate paperwork with me.”

  • “We had a pool that took two full days to come up to temperature and a gas bill that made us stop using it. North Wave re-plumbed the heat exchanger loop and put the pool on its own zone off the boiler. It now heats overnight and the running cost is a fraction of what it was. They explained the whole thing in language I could actually follow.”

Questions

Before you book anything.

The questions we get asked most often, answered the way we would answer them on the phone.

Do you handle both the heating and the plumbing?

Yes. That is the point of how we are set up. Gas fitting, hydronic heating and plumbing sit under one licensed crew, so a fault near the tank, the manifold or the pool loop is simply dealt with rather than passed between two companies.

What does a quote include?

One fixed, itemised price covering the equipment, the labour, the venting and gas work, and the permit where a permit is required. On boiler work it also includes the heat-loss calculation. If we think you need less than you asked for, that goes in writing too.

How quickly can you start?

Emergencies (no heat, no hot water, an active leak) are prioritised and usually same day. Planned replacements are typically booked within one to two weeks, though it stretches during the first cold snap of the season, so earlier is better.

Are there rebates on this kind of work?

Often. FortisBC runs equipment and annual-maintenance rebates and CleanBC covers some system types. Eligibility usually depends on the contractor being registered before you sign, so ask at quote stage rather than afterwards. We complete the paperwork with you.

Do you work on systems you did not install?

Almost all of our service work is on other people's installs. We will tell you what is undersized, wrongly plumbed or simply worn out, and give you options at more than one price point rather than insisting on a full replacement.

Talk to a licensed crew

No heat, no hot water, or a system on borrowed time?

Tell us the make, model and what it is doing. We will tell you whether it is a repair, a service or a replacement, and what it costs, before anyone picks up a wrench.
